HOW TO TRANSFER FILES:
SENDING YOUR FILES TO ME:
1 - After you import your photo session. Edit a few of your favorites and/or different lighting scenarios for me to match
2 - In Lightroom, select all the images you wish to export (All the culled photos to be edited).
3 - From the top menu bar, select FILE // Export as Catalog
4 - Once this menu opens. Create a NEW FOLDER (bottom left button). Create on your desktop a folder named “the wedding” i.e. AARON AND CASEY WEDDING. Save as “the wedding” i.e. AARON AND CASEY
5 - Check the following boxes:
* Export Selected Photos Only
* Build/Include Smart Previews
* Include Available Previews
DO NOT CHECK THE FOLLOWING BOX:
* Export Negative Files
6 - Press Export Catalog (bottom right). This will take some time if it is a large amount of photos.
7 - Go to the desktop where you saved “the wedding” folder and make sure the 3 files are present:
Lightroom Catalog file
Smart Previews file
Previews file
^^^ These are the three files that must be exported in order for me to access your shared catalog.
8- Zip the entire folder you created on your desktop (“the wedding” i.e. AARON AND CASEY). With a MAC you right click and select COMPRESS. Then upload the zip file to our shared dropbox folder TO EDIT.
WHEN YOU RECEIVE YOUR FILES BACK FROM ME:
1 - I will drop the completed wedding into the COMPLETED dropbox folder.
2 - Download the file to your computer where you can easily access it
3 - Open Lightroom
4 - Click FILE // Import from another catalog
5- Select the Lightroom Catalog file you just downloaded
6 - Select - Replace: Metadata and Develop Settings Only
7- Uncheck the box that says "preserve old settings as a virtual copy"
Lightroom will import the metadata and develop adjustments and apply them to the originals that are already present in it’s master catalog and make any appropriate changes to its own records for those images.
