Woohooo! My youngest sister is having her first baby and I am so excited for her and her fiance!! One of the most difficult things about living far away from my family is missing out on these big moments, so I was extremely grateful to have the opportunity to fly back to the states for Christmas and quickly capture photographs of these two.
This was such a last minute photo session, that I didn’t even pack my camera with me. I had to borrow one of my dads (which was an older one that I gave him years ago). I know they say it is not about the camera, but it made me appreciate my nice new camera even more - all the details you can bring back in the cloudy sky is incredible with the Mirrorless Canon EOS R6. However! I think it is more important to have the photos, so even if these don’t 100% match my mastered style I had to share the finals from this special moment in my sisters life.
We chose my favorite location in our neighborhood. The view of The Garden of the Gods Park in the background and the mountains is always so breathtaking. If you remember, I also photographed my parents here on a beautiful snowy day.
You can definitely see how happy my sister is and we are all eager to find out what she is having. As true, Brackett tradition, she is waiting until the baby is born to find out if it a boy or a girl.
This photo session was literally planned within 10 minutes, when her fiance had time off work, there was still some daylight and we were able to find a dress in my closet that could fit my sister with her big belly! I know, I know you are not suppose to say those things, but we were all laughing together about how huge she feels since she is due any day now!
My dad was awesome and stood out in the cold with us to take some behind the scene photographs of me photographing my sister and I of course got one of my sister with mom and dad!
